FLAT RATE. For criminal charges and some basic civil services, this is usually the best way to pay. It allows you to forecast your costs. I will accept payment plans in special circumstances.

HOURLY RATE. For most civil matters I bill $240 an hour. When appropriate I attempt to recover your attorney fees from the opposing party. A retainer is required.

CONTINGENCY FEE. For some suits where the upfront costs are to burdensome for the client, but the facts and law warrant a large, favorable return;  I will front the costs of litigation and will take my fees as a percentage out of our winnings.

BLENDED RATES. Sometimes it just makes sense to agree to a lower flat fee and then charge hourly after a certain number of hours have been reached. In other cases it makes more sense to blend a flat fee with a lower contingency fee.
